No Longer Unemployed

Today was my first day of work at Bakka-Phoenix Books (bakkaphoenix), Toronto's science fiction and fantasy bookstore. As leahbobet has found herself an excellent full-time government day job (or, as we say, she has sold out to The Man), an additional someone was needed for part-time help at the store, and that additional someone is going to be me.

While one should never draw hard and fast conclusions from the first day at any job, my current inclination is simply to grin, with enthusiastic dancing to follow (once I'm over this cold).

Writing a book and selling books -- what else could I ask for? (Well, I could fall in a hole and find it's full of money, but other than that ...)

Congrats! I can be the customer who always harasses you over prices!

I once walked into a parked car and fell. But I didn't find any money, so it's a pointless story.

ps. - Currently battling essays, but I finished the short story. However, I still need to fill in a few gaps that read [insert something clever here], so it may be a few extra days before it arrives in your inbox.

Finding a hole full of money would be excellent, but I recommend that you skip the step of falling into it, because that's a way people get hurt (although if the hole were VERY full of money, at least you wouldn't fall very far, so it's probably worth going for that sort of hole if you can manage it).

"What could be better?"

Editing books?

(Hoping I can still count on you!)

Also -- congrats!

Absolutely! I'm back in the country now (as of late, late yesterday), so feel free to send it along.

Congratulations! I would kill for that job, if I still lived in TO.

Good deal!

Of course, now I have the BNL song with the line "I wish that everyone that I knew hadn't sold out to The Man," in it, and it's all your fault. Or leahbobet's. Whichever; from here it looks like shaking my fist at the same thing.

I'm sorry I missed it, though =/.
